My small town, where I grew up - piccola cittá

Small town, my strange dear old friend, I know you...
fog and smoke, the smell of memory, purple glass, first days of school, the rueful smell of religion
faces, pains and seasons, loves and talking brick, silly adolescence, stupid and false innocence, unhappy puberty cried often softly
small town, old girl...
street corner's witnesses of my erotic dreams,
frustrations and loves never understood...
Small towns, old courtyards...
Spring dreams, rhymes and faiths youth, I cry but I do not regret your powder, your mud, your lives,
your stones, gold and marble, so different are you now, I am always the same, always different...

ps: I'm back

from my photo album of these last days in Italy

Piccola cittá, cara strana vecchia amica, io ti conosco...
facce, dolori e stagioni, amori e mattoni che parlano, stupida adolescenza, falsa e stupida innocenza, pubertá infelice spesso urlata a mezza voce

Home can be confusing, can't it? "so different are you now, I am always the same, always different..." It is as though we are both living creatures. I think of those stacking egg cups, one inside the other. It is as though we are the larger and the smaller, and home too holding us, and in its way inside of us as well. Inside, outside, we both pulse and grow, retract. It is a very organic experience going home.

Congratulazioni
Paulo

Welcome back, yes the words are beautiful - even in English :) And the photograph is so wonderfully balanced. Never ceases to amaze me how much can be said with just the right amount of minamilsim err make that minimalism!

cheers :)

Roger
