Finally I feel at home, I feel good.
Smell, color and inside feelings, all is as in the summers i lived too many years ago in Liguria where I was born. It's really amazing how our soul can relive sensations in such a clear way and I almost get emotional every day.

I love the cosy atmosphere in your painting. It feels safe. Protected. I get the feeling I had when I was a child and we had friends and family over for coffee and cake. My stomach already felt sick because of the heavy cream cake...but I was happy being surrounded by all the people I loved and of course still love...

here you are! i was just thinking of you the other day and wondering about you. and here you are! you are so beautiful))) face, body, symmetry, all of that, of course, but your spirit! i wonder why it is that it has seemed that you have been hidden over the years of blogging, revealing only small parts of yourself? or perhaps there is a clarity in this as well, a deeper truth (?) it is so good to see you and your painting, it is a wonderful place to spend a great deal of time.
me? we have moved from our house of ten years into a two bedroom apartment, awaiting immigration to the states. i am sitting alongside rivers, smiling at shy mennonite women eager for icecream cones, working toward the moment of simplicity:)

I think it's because my life feels like a running river passing by so quickly. Even though I don't try to be face to face with myself suddenly there I am.

So lovely to read to read of you celebrating the sun and summer. The photo is filled with light, much of it your own. You fair glow. Yet you also know the shadow, the darkness in the soul. The struggle between the two is what lends such passion to your painting.

Hey Laura, well silly me, I went back to look at your painting and now I am hungry, so if, when you come back, half your cake is gone then you cabn guess the culprit. I've been painting flowers lately and I love how yours are so juicy! That's an interesting blue diagonal and I am wondering where it will lead? Oneof our famous flower painters here took the Japanese lead and started composing her still lifes in a zig zag pattern so I wonder if your work will zig or zag? I wish mine would :) And boy, you are very photogenic !!
