always though, there is a beautiful and painful paradox inside your paintings. so free but yet...
i just watched a movie, aimee and jaguar. there is a vein of irony that runs through the movie about freedom, a beautiful and sensual human experience. obviously there is the freedom of the germans in nazi germany juxtaposed with the lack of freedom for the jews, but there is another freedom too, even beyond the second obvious freedom of sexual freedom. underneath all of the obvious cloaks of freedom there is the freedom of the spirit. but beside this freedom and perhaps even in greater existence, is the lack of freedom, the struggle for freedom. you might like this movie, laura:)
she is incredibly beautiful, your woman, and sad. i want to kiss her and tell her i am sad too, but also joyous, alive!)))

In questo tuo nuovo dipinto, noto qualcosa di vecchio... E' un soggetto che mi sembra di ricordare, come se lo avessi già visto... E ci vedo qualcosa di...strano, familiare... Una figura che nasconde il proprio io, voltando le spalle al mondo... Chiusa in se stessa, non lo guarda neppure in faccia, come a dire, fatti la tua vita: io non esisto...

When do you have time to do your paintings? You must make an appointment with yourself to paint! it's difficult to get flesh looking so juicy with such thick paint but of course you have made a magnificent job! But of course. And the bed reminded me of Bonnard's tiles _ I don't know why. Wouldn't you have hated to be Bonnard's wife. hanging around in the bathtub all that time while he painted you. Brrrr - when that water gets cold :) Take care keep painting lots so I can admire your work!
